Each SUPREME fireplace is equipped
with an automatic air control that gradually reduces the combustion
air to its preset amount. The preset amount, that is the rate
of combustion, is determined by the position of the air control
handle. The position of the air control handle is determined by
the operator depending on his/her heating requirements and the
type of wood used.
In order to burn wood at a faster rate, the operator should turn
the control handle towards the right when facing the fireplace.
To burn wood at a slower combustion rate, the operator must turn
the control handle towards the left.
Regardless of the position of the air control handle, when starting
a fire or adding a new load of wood, the operator must push the
control handle inwards and then pull it outwards to maximize the
amount of combustion air. As the temperature of the fireplace
rises, the thermostatic bimetal will gradually reduce the combustion
air to the level determined by the position of the control handle.
The position of the control handle should not be changed once
the fire is started.
